ArborLit ORNAMENT EDITIONS
HISTORY

Already a published writer* and accomplished businessman, one mid-November morning more than a decade ago Mark woke to an epiphany. A week later he put the finishing touches on an 11,000 word short story titled “Snowflake.” A few weeks after that, about 200 copies of “Snowflake” rolled off the presses and the first Ornament Edition was born. What began as an idea for a giveback to his corporate clients in the form of a Christmas gift, this “ornament” quickly captured the hearts and imaginations of readers and Christmas-lovers alike.
More than a dozen original Christmas stories later, the 2020 edition titled “The Four Days of Christmas” saw about 600 put into print.
Now, for the first time since that fateful epiphany all those years ago, a number of these Ornament Editions are available in mass market print for everyone to enjoy and come in two versions: ArborLit Originals and ArborLit Classics.
*Shortly after his story “As It Stands Now” was published in the Spring 2007 issue of Storyteller Magazine, the magazine unceremoniously folded. Mark feels the publishing of his story in close proximity to Storyteller’s demise was purely coincidental and for more than a decade now he’s been sticking to that story.
What's an ArborLit ORNAMENT EDITION?
These little keepsakes are short stories (some quite long shorts) that can be hung on your Christmas tree like an ornament, or read like a book. Each one comes in a durable gloss laminate cover. Some have referred to them as “the cutest little things.” What could be better than having your family gather around the Christmas tree and someone—your mother, father, sister, brother—read an “ornament” and be filled with laughter, be moved to tears, but in all cases be imbued with an enduring warmth befitting the Season?
